Ask Roberta Kalmar, our Adoption Social Worker ?

ROBERTA KALMAR, licensed master social worker, LMSW has devoted her entire career to the welfare of children.

She has conducted home studies for adoptions from around the world including China, Eastern Europe, Moldavia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Guatemala, India, Pakistan, Morocco (guardianship adoptions), Guyana, the Caribbean, the Philippines and the United States.  For Hague country adoptions she places particular emphasis on compliance with both the United States Citizenship and Information Services (USCIS) and your child’s country.  She works closely to insure your paperwork meets all requirements.

Roberta Kalmar is also approved by the Courts to conduct domestic adoption home studies.  She works with local Courts, attorneys and adoption agencies.

Ms. Kalmar’s clients include couples, singles, step-parents, those over 50 and second-parent families.

As an adoptive mother and through the course of her work and travel to orphanages, Roberta Kalmar has also become concerned about the orphans who will not be adopted.  Her humanitarian aid efforts therefore highlight the needs of these children and have led her to: fund a children’s milk program for one year for a day-program in Vietnam; contribute to a hospice for HIV/AIDS youngsters in Guatemala and provide a grant to the Sunrise Children’s Village in Cambodia.

An important aspect of Ms. Kalmar’s practice is to answer your questions about the adoption home study process.  Her services are available to residents of Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Nassau and Suffolk.
