Lilya Popovetsky, MA SpEd, CAS, SDA is the founder of A Multilingual Development Agency, an Early Intervention agency for children from birth to three years old in Nassau County, NY.    She obtained a Master’s Degree from Columbia University’s Teacher’s College in Early Childhood Special Education, with a dual certification in General Education.  Lilya went on to complete an educational administration degree from Hofstra University.  Lilya is a Russian-born special educator who conducts full developmental educational evaluations for children and their families.  The evaluations assess all areas of development including cognition, adaptive skills, social-emotional development, physical development, and communication skills. 

A Multilingual Developmental Agency is a New York State Department of Health Approved agency contracted by the Nassau County Early Intervention Program.  The agency specializes in working with children who have been adopted, both internationally and domestically.  The languages offered to families include, but are not limited to: Russian, Polish, Armenian, Cantonese, Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese.  A Multilingual Development Agency offers all children, birth to three years old, free evaluations in the comfort of their homes. If the children are found eligible, the agency also offers them free, home-based services.  The list of services provided include therapies such as: speech/language, physical, occupational, feeding and play.  Additionally, the agency offers nutritional consults, family counseling and much more.

Lilya is highly involved in the adoptive community. She provides counseling and guidance to individual families, and she is often invited to be a guest speaker at adoption conferences and support groups.
